Wagashi TooLs For Sale

One of the most common wagashi tools the triangle stick and sarashi cloth (bleached cloth) are not easy to come by. Wooden triangle sticks usually costs around 3000 to 4000 yen, but I am a fan of the plastic sticks as they are cheaper and easier to clean.
The only problems is that there is only one online store that sells it and they are always out of stock.

But the other day, I found they had stock, so I grabbed a few in case anyone wants to buy them. So if anyone is interested in buying the triangle stick, let me know in class.
This triangle stick has a chrysanthemum center which comes in handy.

Triangle stick only : 1700 yen
Triangle stick + 2 sarashi cloth : 2000 yen
One sarashi Cloth :200 yen per sheet (35cm X35 cm)

Sarashi usually is sold by the roll and I had to cut and sew the ends myself.  I am not a good seamstress but I don't gain any profit from these sales so appreciate your understanding!

Hi Miyuki,

This is Fidelia, how are u doing? I was in your Wagashi class in January, 2017. Not sure if you still remeber me. I actually have interest to buy 2 set of wagashi tools, one for me and one for my friend Sherry who was in the class together.

I will go to Toyko in January 23 to 27, 2018. I know it will be about 3 months after, but can I pre-order from you now and pick up while I am in Toyko. If you need me to pay first or put the deposit to hold the tools set, please kindly let me know what should I do.

Thank you and looking forward to hear from u soon.

Regards,

Fidelia

Miyuki,

I have been looking for a triangle stick for a very long time. Would you be willing to ship to the USA? If so, please send me an email to discuss.

Thank you,
Doug

Hello Miyuki,

Thank you kindly for your post. I remember eating a Japanese candy brought straight from Japan as a child and loving the taste. Decades later, I only just learned about wagashi and specifically nerikiri.

Before discovering your post, I ordered a large amount of wooden tools such as the triangle stick. May I ask for your expertise on how to care for the wooden tools?

Hi Lilly

Thank you for your post. If you have a wooden tool, make sure you dry it completely before storing to avoid mold. Also, you may need to soak it in water before using as the dough may stick to dry wood. And last, when you are cleaning, don't keep the wooden tools in water for a long time.
Hope you enjoy using them.

Thank you for your reply, Miyuki.

Would I be able to use soap detergent to clean the wooden tools and I just heard that I'll have to rub oil onto the wood before using. May I ask what your opinion is on those tips?

Once again, thank you so much.

It is recommended that you scrub off any dough that is stuck to the stick (with something like a plastic card) then wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it where it is well ventilated, Store it after it is completely dry. If you need to wash it in water, do not soak for a long time.
Hope this helps!
