Hasamigiku Class

 Hasamigiku (鋏菊)is an art of creating a chrysanthemum with nerikiri using scissors to express the flower petals.
It is an exquisite art that needs patience and practice. But even beginners can create a beautiful piece as long as they are taught the basic  principles of this extraordinary technique. This course is for only Jodangiri (上段切り)- cutting from the top.

There are two courses that you can choose for learning how to do the hasamigiku. Tools that are required can be purchased at the time of booking. This course is available online and in person. (in case of online classes, you would need to make your own nerikiri dough to participate in Course A)

Course A:  2.5 hour hasamigiku casual course  (15000 yen/25000 yen for solo booking)
This is suitable for someone who would like to experience in hasamigiku,.
This course includes only hasamigiku training. The nerikiri dough is premade..

Course B : 4 hour intensive hasamigiku traning (20000 yen/35000 yen for solo booking)
Suitable for beginners in hasamigiku and nerikiri making. 
This  course includes making the right dough for hasamigiku, Learning the hasamigiku principles and training. 
This course can be split in two days. (2 hours each)

  • Mizuame (Starch Syrup)* - 300 yen
*Mizuame is used to retain the moisture in the dough to prevent from drying out during the cutting process. You can make the dough without it. Food items cannot be sent to countries with  import restrictions.
