Hasamigiku Class

 Hasamigiku (鋏菊)is an art of creating a chrysanthemum with nerikiri using scissors to express the flower petals.
It is an exquisite art that needs patience and practice. But even beginners can create a beautiful piece as long as they are taught the basic  principles of this extraordinary technique. This course is for only Jodangiri (上段切り)- cutting from the top.

There are two courses that you can choose for learning how to do the hasamigiku. Tools that are required can be purchased at the time of booking. This course is available online and in person.

Course A:  2 hour hasamigiku training  (15000 yen)
This is suitable for someone who has experience in hasamigiku, or nerikiri making.
This course includes only hasamigiku training. You have to prepare your own dough before the class.

Course B : 
4 hour intensive hasamigiku traning (28000 yen)
Suitable for beginners in hasamigiku and nerikiri making. 
This  course includes making the right dough for hasamigiku, Learning the hasamigiku principles and training. 
This course can be split in two days. (2 hours each)
Tool kit  - 16,000 yen  (Shipping charges will be added for online classes)

  • Sarashi cloth (Cotton Cloth)
  • Wooden egg
  • Hiraita (Wood block)

Optional:
  • Extra Sankakubo (Wood) 5000 yen
  • Extra Sankakubo (Plastic) 2000 yen​
  • Extra Straight Scissors: 6800 yen
  • Mizuame (Starch Syrup)* - 300 yen
*Mizuame is used to retain the moisture in the dough to prevent from drying out during the cutting process. You can make the dough without it. Food items cannot be sent to countries with  import restrictions.
